Research

The lab conducts applied research to support urban forest and urban land use and management decision-making in both the private and public sectors. We work in a collaborative setting within the College of Natural Resources and Environment.

Virtually all lab research is interdisciplinary in nature and we frequently collaborate with scientists who specialize in geospatial analysis and remote sensing, hydrology, and the social sciences. Core areas of expertise in our lab are urban soils, whole plant physiology, and root/soil interactions. We also work in partnership with local governments, state and federal agencies, and other research institutions.
